NinjaTrader Prop Orders: Read States Before Counting Exposure
A prop-account order journal needs to preserve state transitions. A submitted or working order and a completed execution answer different questions. This guide uses NinjaTrader’s published state definitions to organise an illustrative record.

Use the platform’s own definitions
NinjaTrader distinguishes submitted, working, cancel pending, cancelled, partially filled and filled states. In particular, a pending cancellation is not the same record as a confirmed cancellation. Keep the actual state and its timestamp, rather than translating every response into success.
These definitions describe NinjaTrader. This article has not established that HashHedge supports NinjaTrader, and the affiliate link is not an integration offer. Review the actual supported terminal and product before considering an account connection.
Reconcile a fictional partial fill
An illustrative order requests five contracts. Two unique contracts fill, then cancellation is requested for the rest. At the cancel-pending observation, filled quantity is two and the unfilled remainder is three. The request alone does not prove that the remainder can no longer execute.
If a later final record confirms cancellation with no additional fill, the filled quantity remains two and the cancelled remainder is three. If another execution appears, reconcile it by its unique identifier. Do not add a cumulative filled snapshot again as a new execution.
| Observation | Filled quantity | Unfilled remainder |
|---|---|---|
| Order submitted | 0 | 5 |
| Two unique fills | 2 | 3 |
| Cancel pending | 2 | 3; final state unresolved |
| Cancellation confirmed, no later fill | 2 | 3 cancelled |
Carry confirmed exposure into account review
This site’s existing contract-multiplier migration resource preserves the units that apply to a record. Keep that version beside each fill; the order state and contract multiplier answer separate questions.
Only after quantities reconcile should you compare the account’s actual equity and applicable evaluation rules. The worksheet is offline, sends no orders and makes no platform-compatibility or account-eligibility claim. HashHedge’s current product information remains a separate optional source.
